The DUNLOP TECH tire mobility system:
Easiest application and safe operation
The DUNLOP TECH tire mobility system seals punctures (as caused, for instance, by nails or screws) in the tread, shoulder and sidewall of the tire of up to 6 mm in size.
This matches 90% of all common tire breakdown situations. In case of more substantial tire damage, such as cracks, cuts or damage of the rim, the customer service should be consulted for safety reasons.
The principle of the DUNLOP TECH tire mobility system is very simple –
only a few steps are necessary to repair the damage:
1. Irrespective of any foreign bodies* inside the tire, the IMS sealant fluid is pumped through the valve into the damaged tire.
Depending on the equipment of the DUNLOP TECH tire mobility kit, this is done either manually - by pressing the bottle - or automatically by means of the electric air pump included in the set. The tire is then reinflated to the correct pressure (duration: ca. 10 minutes).
*Note: When foreign bodies visibly stick out of the tire they should be removed.
2. Once the prescribed inflation pressure is reached, immediately continue the journey with a maximum speed of 80 km/h so that the IMS sealant can disperse inside the tire. Owing to the movement of the tire the sealant combines with the tire rubber at the defective spot, creating a solid compound inside the puncture.
3. After driving for approximately ten minutes the inflation pressure should be checked. If necessary, inflate again until the prescribed pressure level is reached. Only if the inflation pressure so obtained is below 1.3 bar the tire is probably too badly damaged to continue the journey.
4. The successfully sealed tire can be driven with a maximum speed of 80 km/ h over a maximum distance of 1,500 km. It is, however, recommended to see a repair shop as soon as possible and have the tire checked, or changed, by an expert.
